The role is open to UAE National onlyManager - Data ScienceThe Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. CBUAE is responsible for enhancing monetary management, financial stability and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure and the adoption of digital technologies.We are seeking a hands-on Manager – Data Science to join our Data Office. The role is fundamentally an execution-driven position, and the successful candidate will be expected to independently design, develop, test, and deploy advanced analytics and AI solutions, while also setting technical standards and guiding others on best practices.In this role, the candidate will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to formulate and test hypotheses, explore and analyse datasets, and translate data into actionable insights. The candidate should be able to apply advanced analytical, statistical and programming techniques to solve high-impact business challenges, as well as help to shape and embed data science and AI best practices across the organisation.Core Responsibilities Identify AI use cases across all departmentsExtract, mine and transform data from valuable data sourcesUse machine learning tools to select features, create and optimise classifiersCarry out pre-processing of structured and unstructured dataEnhance data collection procedures to ensure completeness and relevance for analytics and AI initiativesConduct deep exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, correlations, and anomaliesBuild and deploy scalable predictive models and machine learning solutionsCommunicate complex analytical findings in a clear, structured, and business-friendly mannerTranslate business problems into analytical solutions and recommend data-driven strategiesCollaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and cross-functional experts to deliver end-to-end solutionsProvide coaching and technical guidance to SMEs and internal CBUAE teams, supporting demand intake and AI delivery enablementContribute to the continuous improvement of data science methodologies, tools, and governance frameworksUndertake additional responsibilities as required in support of organisational prioritiesPeople Management ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership and direction to direct reports towards the achievement of goals and objectives.Guide and mentor direct reports to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developing for higher level roles.Conduct performance evaluation and appraisal reports of direct reports to assess subordinates productivity and progress and identify training needs.Ensure continuous communication of organizational priorities, changes and strategic direction within the team.Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology / Artificial Intelligence/ Data Science or a related field or relevant subject.Relevant professional certifications or memberships will be considered an advantage.Minimum of 4+ years’ experience preferably in a banking or financial industryProgramming skills – knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and databases query languages like SQL and Hive.Statistics – Excellent applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, and regression analysis.Machine Learning – excellent knowledge of machine learning.Strong software engineering backgroundProblem-solving aptitudeHands-on experience with data science tools.The CBUAE offers you the opportunity to join an interdisciplinary and multinational team that spans diverse backgrounds and experiences.
