We're building the AI operating layer for procurement. SMB manufacturers still run on fragmented ERPs, emails, spreadsheets and PDFs. We're replacing that with autonomous agents that manage purchase orders, coordinate suppliers, reconcile invoices, handle sourcing and quotations, and learn continuously from company processes.Procurement will shift from people operating software to humans supervising AI systems. We're looking for the Founding AI Engineer to build it.What you'll work onA production multi-agent stack already live with paying customers:Agent orchestration: stateful multi-agent graphs, supervisor / worker patterns, planner-executor splits, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, durable execution. Trade-offs between agent frameworks (graph-based, role-based, code-as-agent) and when to go customAgent memory: layered design across working, semantic, episodic and procedural. Importance scoring, summarization, why naive RAG breaks in long-horizon loopsVector and hybrid retrieval: vector DBs, BM25 + dense hybrid, reranking, query rewritingTool use and integration: function calling at scale, MCP, schema design for reliable tool selection, mock-first integration layers for ERPs and external systemsLLM routing and evals: tiered model routing, structured outputs, eval-driven iteration, regression suites, cost and latency budgetsProduction infra: async backend, Postgres with vector extensions, queueing, multi-tenant isolation, full LLM and application observabilityRoadmap: deeper MCP tool layer, self-improving agents driven by procedural feedback, predictive ML for supplier risk, price drift, supply chain disruption.Who we wantHighly ambitious, fast-moving builder mentality with strong ownership and genuine interest in solving real operational problems through AIStrong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields from a leading university.
