VP of Data Engineering & Analytics

We’re hiring a VP of Data Engineering & Analytics to rebuild and scale a data function from the ground up within a high-growth consumer business in Dubai.This isn’t a traditional reporting or BI leadership role. Data is the core product. The business has a unique, highly valuable dataset in its industry and is looking for a leader to build a world-class data platform, actionable intelligence, and commercial growth. You’ll inherit an existing team and be responsible for scaling it, maturing the platform, improving data quality and governance, and helping the business unlock new revenue opportunities through data-driven decision makingWe’re looking for someone who combines deep technical credibility with commercial thinking. Someone who can still roll up their sleeves when needed, has built data teams from the ground up, and understands how to move from startup chaos to scalable execution.What you’ll be responsible for:Defining and executing the company’s data strategyBuilding an AI-ready, modern data platform and semantic layerEstablishing data quality, governance, observability, and trusted metricsLeading data ingestion, warehousing, and multi-tenant architecture initiativesDriving BI, analytics, forecasting, and client-facing data productsPartnering with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and commercial insightsScaling and mentoring a high-performing data team while leveraging AI to increase productivity and impactWe’re looking for someone who has:15+ years of experience in modern data platforms, architecture, SQL, and data modellingHands-on experience with modern cloud data stacksExperience building and scaling data teams in startup environmentsData modelling, warehousing and analytics expertiseAbility to translate data into business outcomes and growth opportunitiesStrong stakeholder management and executive presenceExperience building, scaling, and leading high-performing data teamsA passion for AI-enabled data platforms and next-generation analytics capabilitiesNice to have:Predictive analytics, forecasting, churn, and LTV modelling expertiseBackground in SaaS, analytics products, or multi-tenant technology environments
