Founding AI Engineer (Hedge Fund)We are partnering with a financial services group building an AI-first operating model across investment management, digital assets, fintech, and banking.The organisation is seeking a Founding AI Engineer to architect and deploy production-grade AI systems that support investment research, knowledge management, and decision-making. This is a greenfield opportunity to build the foundations of an AI-powered research platform with direct access to senior leadership and significant autonomy.The RoleYou will design and build agentic AI systems that help researchers, portfolio managers, and traders consume information, generate insights, and make better-informed decisions.Key responsibilities include:Designing single and multi-agent systems for research and information retrieval.Building AI-powered workflows across text, voice, video, PDFs, charts, and structured datasets.Developing scalable data pipelines and research data platforms.Establishing data governance, observability, monitoring, and evaluation frameworks.Creating maker-checker validation systems and human-in-the-loop workflows.Supporting portfolio analytics, performance attribution, risk analysis, and research workflows.Working closely with business leaders to identify opportunities and rapidly deploy solutions.What We're Looking For8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems.Deep experience designing and deploying agentic AI systems.Strong understanding of AI evaluation, governance, monitoring, observability, and risk controls.Strong Python engineering skills and experience building cloud-native AI platforms.Strong mathematical and analytical foundation, including experience working with time-series and quantitative data.Hands-on experience with multimodal AI, including NLP, speech-to-text, OCR, computer vision, and graph interpretation (desirable)BackgroundHedge FundsAsset ManagementQuantitative Investment FirmsPrivate EquityExperience supporting investment research or investment decision-making workflows is highly desirable.Why Join?Build greenfield AI systems with real business impact.Direct access to founders and executive leadership.Significant autonomy and ownership.Opportunity to shape the AI roadmap from day one.Work in an environment where AI is a strategic priority, not a side project.Location: Dubai, UAEWorking Model: 5 days per week in officeCompensation $500K-$1M TC
