Director of Artificial Intelligence

We're partnered with an organisation looking for a Director of AI to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI capabilities across the business. This isn’t a role for someone who has only adopted off-the-shelf AI tools. They want a hands-on technical leader who has built AI systems from the ground up and taken them into production.This is a chance to shape AI strategy at a senior level while staying close to the technology, and to make a real impact in a fast-moving international environment.The RoleDefine and drive the organisation’s AI strategy, roadmap, and prioritiesLead the architecture, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions, from prototype through to production at scaleBuild, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of AI/ML engineers and data scientistsWork with executive leadership and business stakeholders to find high-value AI opportunities and turn them into working productsSet best practices for model development, evaluation, MLOps, governance, and responsible AIStay current with advances in AI and judge when to build, buy, or partnerWhat We’re Looking ForProven track record of building AI/ML systems: designing, training, fine-tuning, and deploying models in production environmentsDeep technical expertise in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, NLP, LLMs, or computer visionHands-on experience with modern AI frameworks and infrastructure (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, cloud ML platforms, MLOps tooling)Senior leadership experience, including building and managing technical teamsInternational exposure.
